Künstliche Intelligenz und Krypto: eine Liebesgeschichte

Die Annäherung von KI und Blockchain war 2024 ein wichtiger Krypto-Trend. Laut CoinMarketCap betrug die Marktkapitalisierung des Sektors „KI und Big Data“ Anfang Dezember 2024 58 Mrd. US-Dollar, eine Steigerung von über 260 % innerhalb eines Jahres. In diesem Artikel sehen wir uns einige der Kräfte an, die diesen Trend vorantreiben, darunter die Demokratisierung der Rechenleistung zum Trainieren und Betreiben von Modellen sowie die wachsende Implementierung über verschiedene Anwendungsfälle hinweg, wie zum Beispiel dezentrales Finanzwesen (DeFi), Gaming und dezentrale Governance.

Was ist dezentrale KI (DeAI)?

Während zentrale Behörden Large Language Models (LLMs) wie ChatGPT kontrollieren, nutzt dezentrale KI Blockchain-Technologie zum Verteilen der Prozesse, die nötig sind, um ein Modell über die Knoten hinweg, die das Netzwerk ausmachen, zu betreiben. Einer der Hauptvorteile ist mehr Transparenz dahingehend, wie LLMs funktionieren, da die Aktionen auf einer öffentlich einsehbaren Blockchain aufgezeichnet werden. Zentralisierte KI wird hingegen oft als „undurchschaubar“ angesehen. DeAI ist außerdem manipulationssicher, da verteilte Netzwerke keine einzelne Fehlerstelle aufweisen.

Das Endziel ist es, LLMs vollständig On-Chain zu betreiben – wir stehen jedoch noch an den Anfängen von DeAI. LLMs erfordern eine erhebliche Rechenleistung, insbesondere, um den Algorithmus zu trainieren. Dies können nur wenige Protokolle handhaben. Allerdings führen einige schon die Inferenz durch, den Prozess, einen Output zu generieren, wie zum Beispiel Antworten auf Fragen, die einem Chatbot gestellt werden.   

Dezentralisierte Computernetzwerke, eine Art dezentrales physisches Infrastruktur-Netzwerk (DePIN), bieten einen alternativen Ansatz zum Betrieb von LLMs. Diese Netzwerke sind Marktplätze, die Anbieter mit überschüssigem Strom sowie mit Nutzern verbinden, die nicht die Ressourcen haben, um selbst die nötige Infrastruktur aufzubauen. Wie der Name schon sagt, bauen sie auf Blockchain-Technologie auf, die die Beiträge von Anbietern aufzeichnen und Prämien in Form von Krypto-Währungen ausstellen, für gewöhnlich in dem nativen Token eines Netzwerks.

Ein dezentrales Computernetzwerk, das bis heute entscheidend an Traktion gewonnen hat, ist IO.net, welches auf dem Solana-Protokoll aufbaut und innerhalb von sechs Monaten nach der Einführung seines nativen Tokens (IO) zu einer Marktkapitalisierung von 400 Mio. US-Dollar herangewachsen ist (Stand Dezember 2024). Ende 2023 tat sich IO.net mit den DePINs Render und Filecoin zusammen, um eine höhere Anzahl an Anbietern zu erreichen.

Was sind KI-Agenten?

Ein KI-Agent ist ein Modell, das im Namen eines Menschen eine Aufgabe erfüllt – im Gegensatz zu einem Chatbot, der auf Interaktion (Antworten auf Fragen) ausgelegt ist. Nutzer weisen ein Ziel zu, und dann erfüllt der Agent die Aufgabe je nachdem, wie der Algorithmus trainiert wurde. Dies kann den Zugriff auf Datenquellen oder sogar die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Agenten umfassen.

Type of AI AgentsEiner der größten Akteure im Krypto-Raum per Marktkapitalisierung (über 3,6 Mrd. US-Dollar, Stand Dezember 2024) ist Virtual Protocols, eine Plattform, auf der Nutzende ihre eigenen Agenten erstellen können, zum Beispiel zum Designen von Gaming-Charakteren oder zum autonomen Posten auf Social-Media-Plattformen. Diese Agenten können Token ausstellen – AIXBT, das Markteinblicke bietet, hat eine Marktkapitalisierung von über 450 Mio. US-Dollar (Stand Dezember 2024).

Ein weiterer Krypto-KI-Agent, der Aufmerksamkeit erregt hat, ist Truth Terminal, das als autonomes X-Konto (ehemals Twitter) begann, welches basierend auf Inputs von Seiten wie Reddit ein Internet-Meme mit dem Namen „Goatse Gospel“ erfand. Daraufhin führte die Krypto-Community ein Goat-Memecoin ein (Marktkapitalisierung 450 Mio. US-Dollar, Stand Dezember 2024) und richtete auf Solana ein Krypto-Wallet ein. Dank Spenden ist Truth Terminal ein Memecoin-Influencer geworden – mit fast 200.000 X-Followern und einem Wallet mit fast 970 verschiedenen Tokens im Wert von 423 Mio. US-Dollar (Stand Dezember 2024).   

Jenseits von Memecoins

KI-Agenten haben eine breite Palette an Anwendungsfällen, die über den Memecoin-Enthusiasmus hinausgehen, insbesondere im Bereich DeFi. Beispielsweise können Bots so programmiert werden, dass sie automatisch unter bestimmten Bedingungen Handelsstrategien ausführen oder ein Portfolio wieder ins Gleichgewicht bringen. DeFi-Apps können außerdem Agenten nutzen, beispielsweise, um dezentralen Exchanges zu helfen, Liquiditätspools Geldmittel zuzuweisen, was den Kauf und Verkauf von Kryptos ohne Mittelsperson vereinfacht.

Ende August 2024 kündigte Brian Armstrong, Mitbegründer und CEO des Krypto-Exchanges Coinbase, an, dass zum ersten Mal eine Transaktion zwischen zwei KI-Agenten stattgefunden habe (ein Agent verwendete Circles Stablecoin USDC, um von dem anderen Agenten KI-Token zu kaufen). Wie Armstrong erwähnte, ist eine der aktuellen Einschränkungen der Agenten, dass sie keine Aufgaben wie Buchungen von Flugreisen oder Hotelzimmern durchführen können, da sie keine Bankkonten haben können. Sie können jedoch über Krypto-Wallets verfügen, wie Truth Terminal zeigte. KI-Agenten können die Stablecoin USDC verwenden, um auf Base, dem Layer-2-Protokoll von Coinbase (einer Blockchain, die auf dem Ethereum-Netzwerk aufbaut), von Menschen, Händlern und anderen Agenten etwas zu kaufen.  

Ein weiterer potenzieller Anwendungsfall von KI-Agenten in der Krypto-Sphäre ist die Optimierung des Betriebes dezentraler autonomer Organisationen (DAOs), Einheiten, die basierend auf Blockchain-Technologie und ohne den Bedarf einer zentralen Instanz agieren. DAOs hängen davon ab, dass Community-Mitglieder bezüglich verschiedener Governance-Themen abstimmen, zum Beispiel Finanzmitteldisposition oder Protokoll-Updates. Agenten können Informationen sammeln, um bei Entscheidungen zu helfen oder stellvertretend eine Stimme abzugeben.

Der Begriff DeAI beschreibt eine KI, die über Blockchain-Technologie läuft, was sie transparent und manipulationssicher macht. Während nur wenige Protokolle LLMs vollständig On-Chain betreiben können, bieten dezentrale Computernetzwerke, eine Art DePIN, die von Entwicklern verlangte Rechenleistung, um Modelle zu trainieren und Resultate zu erzielen.

KI-Agenten führen im Namen von Menschen Aktionen durch. Truth Terminal, ein Memecoin-Influencer, ist bisher einer der hochkarätigsten Krypto-Agenten. Solche Agenten können jedoch verschiedene Anwendungsfälle im Krypto-Raum erfüllen, wie zum Beispiel in den Bereichen DeFi, Gaming und DAO-Management. Agenten können außerdem untereinander Transaktionen durchführen, wie Coinbase im August 2024 zeigte.
