Chainlink: costruire i ponti per il futuro della finanza

Il panorama delle criptovalute è cambiato dal lancio di bitcoin a inizio 2009. Concepita in origine come mezzo di scambio peer-to-peer, ma successivamente sfruttata dai trader speculativi, la tecnologia blockchain alla base di BTC è stata adottata da protocolli che ne hanno visto il potenziale per uno spettro molto più ampio di casi d’uso basati sugli smart contract. Uno tra i più interessanti è il collegamento tra la finanza tradizionale e la blockchain, dove Chainlink è un attore invisibile ma essenziale. Questo articolo analizza il ruolo centrale di Chainlink nel futuro della finanza.

Perché la finanza ha bisogno di ponti

Il lancio di Ethereum nel 2015 ha aperto un nuovo capitolo per la tecnologia blockchain introducendo il concetto di smart contract, un programma che viene eseguito in maniera automatica al verificarsi di determinate condizioni. Si tratta di un traguardo importante, perché gli smart contract sono alla base delle applicazioni decentralizzate (dApp) che stanno stimolando la creazione di valore che, un giorno, potrebbe portare al cosiddetto “flippening”, la convinzione diffusa in alcuni ambienti che la capitalizzazione di mercato di Ethereum possa superare quella di Bitcoin.

Tuttavia, c’è un problema. Le blockchain operano in modo isolato perché sono separate dal mondo reale. Sono come un computer senza connessione a internet. Da un lato, questo design rende le blockchain più sicure perché limita le variabili coinvolte nel raggiungimento di un accordo sullo stato del registro. Per completare una transazione, per esempio, il protocollo deve solamente sapere che il mittente dispone di fondi sufficienti nel proprio portafoglio e che ha approvato la transazione. Dall’altro lato, però, gli smart contract si affidano a fonti di dati esterne per gestire la maggior parte dei casi d’uso che rendono possibili. Prima di parlare dell’ecosistema più avanti nell’articolo, partiamo da un esempio semplice: nel caso di una scommessa in un mercato predittivo, il risultato di un evento deve essere confermato prima che il vincitore possa essere premiato.

Nella comunità cripto, questo è noto come il “problema dell’oracolo”.

Chainlink affronta il “problema dell’oracolo” fungendo da ponte tra le blockchain e il mondo reale. Si occupa infatti di raccogliere e verificare i dati, prima di trasmetterli agli smart contract affinché possano completare la transazione. Al contempo, però, svolge anche altre funzioni, come l’interoperabilità (permettendo a diverse blockchain di comunicare tra di loro e con il sistema finanziario globale), ma questo articolo si concentra principalmente sul problema dell’oracolo.

Possiamo pensare a Chainlink come ai flussi di dati, anche noti come API, che alimentano le app sul tuo telefono. Le compagnie aeree e gli hotel utilizzano le API per condividere dati sui prezzi e la disponibilità a piattaforme come Booking.com o Expedia, che li aggregano per presentare una vasta gamma di soluzioni che rispondono a diversi budget. La principale differenza, però, è che le dApp eliminano gli intermediari.

Senza entrare troppo nei dettagli tecnici, è importante sottolineare che la decentralizzazione è importante per gli oracoli tanto quanto per le blockchain. Una fonte di dati è soggetta a un single point of failure: le informazioni potrebbero essere inaffidabili, oppure un malintenzionato potrebbe manipolarle. Tuttavia, Chainlink è una rete di oracoli decentralizzata, che richiede ai suoi partecipanti, detti node, di concordare sull’accuratezza dei dati trasmessi.

Le applicazioni reali già attive

Ora che abbiamo illustrato il funzionamento di Chainlink, è il momento di analizzare alcuni casi d’uso che fanno affidamento sulla rete. Cominceremo dalla DeFi, il settore in cui la blockchain ha causato i cambiamenti più radicali finora.

Le stablecoin si sono guadagnate il titolo di una delle prime “killer app” della blockchain. Ancorando il proprio valore a una valuta fiat, spesso il dollaro statunitense, aprono la strada verso l’adozione di massa, offrendo stabilità in un asset storicamente volatile. Tra le applicazioni ci sono le transazioni internazionali, una valuta base per la negoziazione di criptovalute e i prodotti di risparmio.

Gli emittenti utilizzano diversi meccanismi per mantenere l’ancoraggio, ed è qui che entra in gioco Chainlink. TrueUSD, una delle prime dieci stablecoin per capitalizzazione di mercato (a settembre 2025), è coperta da valuta fiat. Chainlink fornisce una verifica continua (nota come Proof of Reserves) per confermare che il valore dei dollari e degli asset denominati in dollari detenuti off-chain dal suo emittente, Archblock, corrisponda al numero di token in circolazione.

La tokenization degli asset reali, principalmente strumenti finanziari, è un altro caso d’uso che fa affidamento sugli oracoli. La soluzione di Proof of Reserves di Chainlink aumenta la trasparenza in questo ambito verificando che gli emittenti detengano effettivamente gli asset off-chain rappresentati da questi token. Tra gli attuali utenti ci sono OpenEden (Titoli di Stato), Backed Finance (azioni) e Cache Gold.

Anche gli assicuratori on-chain si affidano agli oracoli per gestire i propri prodotti. Chainlink raccoglie per conto di Etherisc i dati necessari per elaborare le richieste di risarcimento, come le precipitazioni e la temperatura, e li trasmette direttamente agli smart contract che emettono i pagamenti.

Secondo il Chief Impact Officer di Etherisc, Michiel Berende, “un’assicurazione sul raccolto accessibile e conveniente è essenziale per aumentare la resilienza ai cambiamenti climatici dei piccoli agricoltori”. “Con l’aiuto della rete di oracoli decentralizzata di Chainlink, Etherisc ha la capacità di contribuire a migliorare le condizioni economiche di centinaia di migliaia di agricoltori nell’Africa orientale.”

Soffermiamoci anche brevemente sull’interoperabilità. Chainlink collabora da molto tempo con la rete di pagamento SWIFT, che elabora ogni giorno migliaia di miliardi di dollari di transazioni e che, a settembre 2025, ha annunciato il lancio della propria blockchain. Chainlink ha già iniziato a studiare come consentire agli istituti finanziari di collegare i propri sistemi di backend alla blockchain SWIFT, sulla base degli insegnamenti tratti da un progetto pilota condotto nel 2023 che gestiva asset tokenizzati emessi su blockchain private e pubbliche.

Perché gli oracoli sono importanti per gli investitori?

Le altcoin, un termine ombrello utilizzato per indicare qualunque criptovaluta che non sia BTC, permettono di diversificare il portafoglio e, al contempo, offrono un’esposizione a tecnologie innovative, come gli oracoli e la tokenization. L’universo è ampio e la qualità varia in maniera significativa (il 50% delle criptovalute è fallito dal 2021), ma LINK, il token nativo di Chainlink, non è come le altre altcoin. Introducendo dati provenienti dal mondo reale nelle blockchain, Chainlink fornisce un’infrastruttura fondamentale che ne aumenterà l’utilizzo e ne migliorerà la scalabilità.

La crescente domanda di oracoli, inoltre, potrebbe sostenere i fondamenti di LINK, dato che tali servizi vengono pagati in LINK. Dalla ricerca citata in un articolo di CoinDesk di giugno 2025, è emerso che il mercato degli asset reali tokenizzati è aumentato di quasi il 400% negli ultimi tre anni, raggiungendo i 24 miliardi di dollari. Le stime relative alle dimensioni potenziali del mercato vanno dai 2.000 miliardi di dollari entro il 2030, secondo McKinsey, alla previsione più ottimistica di Standard Chartered di 30.000 miliardi di dollari entro il 2034.

Chainlink, inoltre, godrà dell’effetto rete, ovvero l’aumento del valore di un prodotto, servizio o piattaforma (come i social media) man mano che aumenta il numero di persone che lo utilizzano. Chainlink ha la capitalizzazione di mercato più grande tra tutti gli oracoli blockchain (a settembre 2025) e questo primato la mette nella posizione di trarre vantaggio dalla crescita futura in questo settore.

Conclusione

Chainlink funge da ponte tra le blockchain e la finanza tradizionale, lavorando silenziosamente dietro le quinte per garantire agli smart contract di ricevere i dati esterni necessari per eseguire un’ampia gamma di dApp. Si tratta di uno degli strumenti principali con cui le blockchain possono espandersi ed essere adottate su larga scala.
