Wie die Welt heute funktioniert, ist wunderbar ironisch – eine fast elegante Dysfunktion. Zentralbanken geben vor, diszipliniert zu sein. Regierungen heucheln Zahlungsfähigkeit. Das große Versagen unserer Zeit beruht auf der absichtlichen Weigerung, sich mit der Realität auseinanderzusetzen. Alle tanzen weiter, in der Hoffnung, dass die Musik weiterläuft. Ganz gleich, ob in Washington, Brüssel oder Frankfurt – diejenigen, die Finanzpolitik machen, sind längst keine Treuhänder mehr, sondern politische Akteure.

In diesem Zusammenhang mag Trump vieles sein – kontrovers, spaltend, polarisierend –, aber dumm ist er nicht. Er versteht die Macht der Hebelwirkung und den damit verbundenen Überschuss. Schließlich hat er sich seinen Namen in der Immobilienbranche gemacht. Und bei Immobilien geht es schließlich um die Hebelwirkung. Man leiht günstig Geld, baut groß und betet, dass der Marktwert steigt.

Diese Denkweise hat er nie abgelegt. Sie definiert seine Einstellung gegenüber Zinsen. Trump will keinen starken Dollar. Er will keine hohen Wechselkurse. Er will viel günstiges Kapital. Warum? Weil er die USA refinanzieren will, so wie er es mit seinen Gebäuden getan hat. Er will bauen – Mauern, Infrastruktur, Slogans – und zwar nicht zu 6 % Fremdkapitalkosten. Stattdessen mit 2 % und dem Fed als private Bank.

Das Problem ist, dass er sich mit Jerome Powell auseinandersetzen muss, und zwar bis zum Ende seiner Amtszeit im Jahr 2026. Und Powell hat, zumindest aktuell, andere Prioritäten – nämlich die Inflation. Was tut Trump also? Er führt Krieg – einen Wirtschaftskrieg. Und die Tarife sind die Waffe seiner Wahl. Nicht, weil er an den Protektionismus als Doktrin glaubt, sondern weil es ein Werkzeug ist. Ein Hebel. Eine Möglichkeit, die Märkte genug durchzurütteln, um dem Fed etwas Geld aus der Tasche zu locken. Es ist wie beim Poker: Die Androhung eines Spielzugs und seiner Konsequenzen ist machtvoller als der Zug selbst. Sobald die Karten auf dem Tisch liegen, ist der Druck verschwunden. Aber solange die Gefahr noch in der Luft liegt, kontrolliert man das Tempo.

Was kommt nach einer Liquidity-Krise?

Dies ist nicht nur eine Spekulation. Sehen Sie sich nur die Liquidity-Krisen an, die sich am Rand des Marktes bilden. Sehen Sie sich Tesla an – Chaos auf der Chefetage, der CEO verschwunden, Schlagzeilen in der Financial Times über die fehlende Führung. Es geht nicht nur um Technologie-Aktien. Es steht für Empfindung und Zuversicht. Wenn die Zuversicht schwankt, versiegt die Liquidity. Wenn die Liquidity versagt, wird die Verschuldung teuer, und irgendeine Position muss liquidiert werden. Daraufhin werden die Märkte etwas zu unsicher, sodass die Zentralbanken eingreifen müssen.

Trump weiß das. Er zählt darauf, dass Powell mit der Wimper zuckt, bevor er es tut. Aber die Konsequenzen dieses Spiels werden sich noch zeigen. Wenn Trump gewinnt und Powell zum Nachgeben zwingt, könnte dies schnell zu Zinssenkungen, quantitativen Lockerungen und billigem Geld im System führen. Das klingt erst einmal schrecklich. Aber für Bitcoin ist es ein Traum.

Halten wir hier kurz inne, um einen Blick auf Europa zu werfen. Man spricht darüber, dass die europäischen Aktien mit „voller Kraft zurückkehren“. Nach jahrelangem Stillstand ist das verständlich, aber es ist wahrscheinlich noch zu früh zum Freuen. Berlins kürzliche Wende in Richtung einer lockereren Finanzpolitik und eines bedeutenden Investmentplans signalisiert zwar einen interessanten Wandel – aber machen wir uns nichts vor, Deutschland steckt in einer Sackgasse. In dem Land herrscht ein industrieller Abschwung, die Energiestrategie ist gespalten und die Bevölkerung altert so schnell, dass keine Finanzhilfe dies ausgleichen könnte. Und das gilt für viele Teile Europas. Die Politiker in Brüssel können es drehen und wenden, wie sie möchten. Aber in diesem Kontext würde ich sagen, dass der aktuelle Hype um die EU eher ein PR-Gag als ein konkreter Sinneswandel ist. Man kann sich aus einer strukturellen Krise nicht heraussubventionieren. Und wie ich schon so oft geschrieben habe: Wenn das Vertrauen in Institutionen – monetäre oder finanzielle – verschwindet, beginnen die Märkte, nach Alternativen zu suchen.

Und das bringt mich zurück zu Bitcoin. Ich werde immer noch gefragt, warum ich daran glaube. Und meine Antwort ist immer noch nie gleiche: In einer Welt voller Variablen ist es die einzige Konstante. Bitcoin hat sich nicht verändert. Es war nicht so „erfolgreich“, wie man es von einer Aktien-Performance erwarten würde. Bitcoin ist einfach da. Ebenso wie 2009 – ein Protokoll, ein Netzwerk, eine Philosophie. Der Preis steigt, wenn das System darum herum fehlschlägt. Das Verständnis von „Erfolg“ ist nur das Abbild vom Scheitern anderer.

J. Powell und eine paradoxe Verfügung

Dies ist keine Übertreibung. Es ist Mathematik. Der Dollar verliert nicht an Wert, weil Bitcoin gewinnt. Bitcoin gewinnt, weil der Dollar an Wert verliert. Fiat-Währungen bauen auf Versprechungen: Versprechen, zurückzuzahlen, zu beschränken, zu reformieren. Bitcoin ist auf Code gebaut – „vires in numeris“. Mit Code verhandelt man nicht, man verifiziert ihn. Vertrauen wird durch Transparenz ersetzt. Deshalb fürchten es die Regierungen. Und deshalb beginnen Institutionen endlich, es anzunehmen – nicht, weil es im Trend liegt, sondern weil es nicht mehr viele Alternativen gibt.

Kommen wir zurück zu Powell. Er steht einer paradoxen Verfügung gegenüber. Inflation ist weiterhin präsent. Aber der politische Druck steigt. Das Wachstum schwankt und es gibt Anzeichen einer Rezession. Das Fed beginnt zu taumeln.

Wo stehen wir also? In einer Welt, in der der Dollar an Wert verliert, das Fed kapituliert, und der politische Zirkus um Tarife und Technologie-Versuche weitergeht, ist nur noch weniges von Dauer. Das DOGE kürzt seine Ausgaben. Aber weniger Ausgaben bedeutet auch weniger BIP. Wenn die gesamte Wirtschaft von Finanzspritzen abhängig ist, sind Einschränkungen nicht die Antwort, sondern eine Drohung. Jeder nicht von der Regierung ausgegebene Dollar wirkt sich auf die Immobilien in DC, private Auftragnehmer, die Verteidigung, das Gesundheitswesen und die Technologiebranche aus. Es ist ein Netzwerk, der berühmte Staatsausgabenmultiplikator. Man zieht an einem Faden und der gesamte Stoff reißt auf.

Deshalb sind die Auswirkungen von Regierungsmaßnahmen (oder deren Untätigkeit) exponentiell. Wenn das DOJ Betrüger verfolgt, hält es die Schuldigen auf. Aber noch wichtiger ist, dass es den Mitschuldigen Angst macht. Das führt zu Verhaltensänderungen.

In dieser Umgebung sind Vermögenswerte, die außerhalb des Systems – und zwar wirklich außerhalb – nicht nur attraktiv. Sie sind notwendig. Überlegen Sie sich Folgendes: Trotz einer Liquidation von 200.000 BTC durch staatliche Akteure, trotz unklarer kommender Regulierungen, ist Bitcoin immer noch über 85.000 USD wert. Vor fünf Jahren wäre dies undenkbar gewesen. Das ist keine Schwäche. Es ist Resilienz. Wir stehen am Anfang einer Phase, die von tiefgreifenden geopolitischen und monetären Paradigmenwechseln geprägt ist. Die USA machen Armdrücken mit ihrer Zentralbank. Europa sucht weiterhin nach einer klaren Richtung. Im Osten rangelt man um lokale Dominanz. Und neben alldem gibt es einen Vermögenswert, ein Protokoll, das unverändert bleibt. Nicht, weil es perfekt ist. Sondern, weil es immun ist.

Bitcoin ist kein Handelswert. Es ist ein Ausweg.
