A penny doesn’t actually cost a penny

Double Spending is CoinShares’ new animated series designed to educate audiences on the historical, fun, and sometimes tragic stories behind money as we know it: namely, fiat currencies.

In this episode, we’ll review how, despite being the oldest currency still in use, the British pound has seen its purchasing power decrease significantly over the centuries, a pattern unfortunately observed in many fiat currencies.
