Nella settimana 36 le azioni blockchain hanno sovraperformato: il BLOCK Index ha guadagnato il 5,2%, contro il +2,7% di Bitcoin, sostenuto dalla forza delle società finanziarie del settore delle cripto-attività e da un miglioramento generalizzato della propensione al rischio. Venerdì il dato sull'occupazione statunitense, superiore alle attese, ha confermato la tenuta del mercato del lavoro e rafforzato gli argomenti a favore di un rialzo dei tassi a settembre; i dati su CPI e PPI attesi la prossima settimana restano quindi i principali catalizzatori di breve periodo. All'interno del comparto ha accelerato l'attività delle Digital Asset Treasury (DAT), ossia le società quotate la cui strategia di tesoreria consiste nel detenere attività digitali. Il rialzo dei prezzi dei token ha riaperto l'accesso al capitale: Strategy ha ripreso gli acquisti di Bitcoin, mentre Hyperliquid Strategies ha ampliato la propria linea di finanziamento in azioni per sostenere l'ulteriore accumulazione di HYPE. Sul fronte infrastrutturale, la tesi legata all'IA si è ulteriormente rafforzata: energia, terreni e capacità di data center pronta all'attivazione emergono come vincoli sempre più rilevanti alla crescita, a sostegno del valore strategico dei miner e degli ex miner che dispongono di ampi portafogli di capacità elettrica.

Principali sviluppi delle azioni blockchain nella settimana 36:

  • Andamento dell'indice: il BLOCK Index ha guadagnato il 5,2% nella settimana, superando Bitcoin (+2,7%). I rendimenti dei titoli di Stato statunitensi sono inizialmente saliti con forza dopo i commenti dal tono più restrittivo del presidente della Federal Reserve Kevin Warsh a Jackson Hole. Giovedì, però, il clima si è rovesciato: il governatore della Fed Christopher Waller si è detto favorevole a concedere più tempo alla disinflazione, aprendo alla possibilità di lasciare i tassi invariati a settembre. Venerdì il rapporto sul mercato del lavoro ha sorpreso al rialzo: gli occupati non agricoli sono aumentati di 162.000 unità ad agosto, contro i 55.000 attesi, mentre il dato di luglio è stato rivisto da un calo di 23.000 a un incremento di 21.000. Un quadro più solido attenua i timori di deterioramento del mercato del lavoro e rafforza gli argomenti a favore di un rialzo dei tassi a settembre, compensando in parte le posizioni più accomodanti espresse da Waller giovedì. L'attenzione si sposta ora sui dati di CPI e PPI della prossima settimana, che dovrebbero risultare determinanti per la decisione della Fed di settembre.

  • Principali movimenti nel BLOCK Index: migliori performance a 7 giorni: Robinhood (+13,6%), Circle (+9,5%), Bullish (+7,9%). Peggiori performance a 7 giorni: PayPal (-7,6%), Metaplanet (-5,9%), Keel Infrastructure (-4,6%).

  • L'accumulazione delle Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) riprende grazie a un accesso al capitale più diversificato: l'attività delle società Digital Asset Treasury ha accelerato di nuovo, poiché il rialzo dei prezzi dei token ha riaperto l'accesso ai mercati dei capitali. Strategy ha ripreso gli acquisti di Bitcoin dopo una pausa di circa 10 settimane, acquistando 4.603 BTC per 369,7 mln di dollari e portando le disponibilità complessive a 845.050 BTC. Hyperliquid Strategies ha ampliato da 1 mld a 2,5 mld di dollari la linea di finanziamento in azioni sottoscritta con Chardan, aumentando la capacità potenziale di finanziare ulteriore accumulazione di HYPE. Strive ha acquistato altri 1.800 BTC. La tendenza si è estesa anche alle società di tesoreria europee: Capital B ha annunciato un aumento di capitale da 7,6 mln di euro con l'investitore strategico Adam Back, mentre Smarter Web Company ha acquistato altri 35 BTC per circa 2,0 mln di sterline, portando le disponibilità complessive a 2.747 BTC. Nel complesso, queste operazioni confermano la crescente diffusione del modello DAT e, allo stesso tempo, mostrano che l'accesso al capitale, la presenza di investitori strategici e la disciplina nell'esecuzione contano quanto l'ammontare dichiarato dei token detenuti.

  • La disponibilità di energia e di powered shell resta il principale collo di bottiglia per la diffusione dell'IA, a vantaggio dei miner di Bitcoin: anche questa settimana ha confermato che terreni, energia e capacità di data center pronta all'attivazione stanno diventando vincoli decisivi per la crescita dell'infrastruttura per l'IA, accrescendo il valore strategico dei miner e degli ex miner dotati di ampi portafogli di capacità elettrica. Nella presentazione dei risultati trimestrali, Hock Tan, amministratore delegato di Broadcom, ha individuato in «land, power and shell» (terreni, energia e immobili) i fattori che determinano la rapidità con cui la capacità per l'IA può essere attivata, nonostante la domanda dei suoi sei maggiori clienti nell'IA sostenga una capacità potenziale fino a 30 GW.

  • Lo stesso vincolo è emerso in tutto il settore delle infrastrutture blockchain. Cipher Digital, titolo incluso nell'indice, ha avviato lo sviluppo di gasdotti per alimentare fino a 2,5 GW di generazione elettrica in loco, mentre Bitdeer ha acquistato 200 acri adiacenti al proprio impianto di Rockdale per 100 mln di dollari, rafforzando il controllo su un sito che dispone già di 563 MW di capacità di connessione alla rete, con possibile ampliamento fino a 742 MW. L'impianto Malaysia AI Cloud di Bitdeer, da 9,5 MW, è già interamente contrattualizzato, con ricavi attesi superiori a 800 mln di dollari. Nel frattempo, l'accordo cloud da 35 mld di dollari fra Anthropic e Lambda impiegherà circa 350 MW in un campus in Texas sviluppato da Hut 8. L'implicazione di fondo è che il collo di bottiglia dell'IA si sta spostando dalla domanda di capacità di calcolo alla possibilità di erogarla fisicamente: a beneficiarne sono diverse società legate al BLOCK Index che già controllano capacità elettrica su larga scala, connessioni alla rete e aree ancora edificabili.

  • Standard Chartered è diventata la prima banca a rilevanza sistemica globale (G-SIB) a offrire negoziazione istituzionale a pronti su Bitcoin ed Ether negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. I clienti idonei possono ora accedere alla negoziazione di BTC/USD ed ETH/USD con consegna fisica attraverso i canali elettronici della banca, in aggiunta al servizio di custodia già esistente. L'iniziativa estende la piattaforma dedicata alle cripto-attività per la clientela istituzionale lanciata inizialmente nel Regno Unito.

  • Coincheck Group/Monex ha annunciato un accordo strategico con DFNS per sviluppare in Giappone servizi di custodia di attività digitali di livello istituzionale. L'obiettivo è estendere l'attività di Coincheck oltre la negoziazione al dettaglio, verso servizi di custodia per gli istituti finanziari giapponesi, subordinatamente alle autorizzazioni regolamentari e alla firma dei contratti definitivi.

  • SBI Holdings sta portando avanti, tramite SBI XDC Network APAC, un'iniziativa on-chain nel finanziamento del commercio internazionale, dopo il sostegno ottenuto dalla prefettura di Osaka. Il progetto unirà la blockchain all'identità digitale delle imprese per trasferire on-chain i processi di KYB e di factoring all'esportazione.

  • Hyperliquid/HYPE ha ottenuto un ulteriore canale distributivo regolamentato: Hashdex ha inserito HYPE nell'ETF NCIQ quotato negli Stati Uniti, che investe in un paniere di criptovalute, portando le attività in portafoglio da otto a nove. HYPE è risultato ammissibile dopo l'introduzione degli standard di quotazione generici della SEC e il rispetto dei requisiti di liquidità, capitalizzazione di mercato e custodia, con implicazioni positive anche per Hyperliquid Strategies.

  • Coinbase ha depositato presso la SEC la documentazione per offrire futures perpetui su azioni statunitensi, estendendo il modello dei contratti perpetui oltre le cripto-attività e ampliando potenzialmente il mercato dei derivati a cui la società può rivolgersi. Il lancio richiederà anche l'approvazione della CFTC.

  • LSEG ha avviato una collaborazione con Payward, società madre di Kraken, per sviluppare azioni britanniche tokenizzate sulla futura piattaforma di negoziazione LSE 24, che dovrebbe offrire esposizione tramite blockchain alle azioni quotate a Londra e orari di negoziazione estesi a partire dal 2027, subordinatamente alle autorizzazioni regolamentari.

  • Hargreaves Lansdown, la maggiore piattaforma di investimento del Regno Unito, ha iniziato a offrire nove ETN su Bitcoin ed Ether dopo l'allentamento delle restrizioni britanniche per gli investitori al dettaglio, con prodotti di CoinShares, BlackRock, Invesco, WisdomTree, 21Shares e Bitwise. La mossa è significativa, dato che Hargreaves era finora rimasta prudente sull'accesso della clientela al dettaglio alle cripto-attività, e segna un ulteriore ampliamento della distribuzione sui canali tradizionali britannici.

  • Revolut ha ottenuto dall'OCC l'approvazione condizionata per una licenza bancaria federale statunitense e punta al lancio nel 2027, subordinatamente alle restanti autorizzazioni di FDIC, Federal Reserve e OCC. La banca dovrebbe offrire in prospettiva depositi, credito, cambi valutari e una stablecoin, assottigliando ulteriormente il confine fra banche digitali e infrastrutture finanziarie per le attività digitali.

  • Polymarket ha ampliato la propria offerta oltre i mercati predittivi con il lancio di futures perpetui con leva fino a 20 volte su cripto-attività, azioni, indici e materie prime. La piattaforma internazionale è partita con 67 mercati, fra cui 36 contratti legati ad azioni e 24 criptovalute, sebbene la negoziazione non sia attualmente disponibile per gli utenti statunitensi.
