Come accedere all’economia delle stablecoin: alla scoperta di Solana

Le stablecoin saranno le “killer app” della tecnologia blockchain? La crescita dell’offerta di token ancorati al dollaro statunitense, che rappresentano il 99% del settore per un valore di 259 miliardi di euro (a settembre 2025), fa intuire che potrebbe essere così. Come possono quindi gli investitori capitalizzare questa tendenza, dato che gran parte delle stablecoin non offre un rendimento? Le principali opportunità sono offerte dai protocolli che generano commissioni per il completamento delle transazioni: pertanto maggiore è l’utilità dei loro token nativi, più elevato sarà il valore. Prima di scoprire la traiettoria di Solana come attore chiave in questo ambito, segue una breve panoramica della situazione attuale.

Ascesa delle stablecoin

Le stablecoin offrono un’ampia gamma di utilizzi che combinano la stabilità con la velocità e il basso costo delle transazioni tipici delle criptovalute: pagamenti transfrontalieri più efficienti, accesso ai risparmi in dollari statunitensi per persone di tutto il mondo, e una valuta base per le negoziazioni, solo per citarne alcuni.

Secondo Visa, le transazioni annue fino a settembre 2025 ammontavano a 6.200 miliardi di euro (escludendo le attività che falsano i volumi, come la negoziazione ad alta frequenza). Per quanto considerevole, questo importo rappresenta solo una piccola parte del valore dei trasferimenti giornalieri effettuati dalle infrastrutture tradizionali, mediamente pari a 7.000 miliardi di euro. Detto questo, le transazioni in stablecoin negli ultimi cinque anni sono cresciute di 12 volte, a partire dai 523 miliardi di euro del 2020.   

Due delle prime dieci criptovalute per capitalizzazione di mercato, USDT e USDC, sono stablecoin (a settembre 2025). Tra l’altro, entrambe sono coperte da garanzie tradizionali, soprattutto dollari e asset denominati in dollari, come i titoli di Stato americani. Al contrario, la terza stablecoin per capitalizzazione, USDe, è sintetica, ossia si basa su derivati e arbitrage per ancorare il suo valore al dollaro.   

Top 10 stablecoins on SolanaL’approvazione negli Stati Uniti della legge GENIUS Act a luglio 2025 dovrebbe consentire alle stablecoin di assumere un ruolo più rilevante all’interno del sistema finanziario mondiale e di favorire l’innovazione. La norma fornisce una roadmap e linee guida per il settore, con l’obiettivo di garantire che tutte le stablecoin siano fisicamente coperte da dollari o asset equivalenti in un rapporto uno a uno, e di assicurarsi che gli emittenti si conformino al Bank Secrecy Act, legge volta a prevenire il riciclaggio di denaro e il finanziamento del terrorismo.

Perché Solana?

Solana ha tutte le carte in regola per espandere la propria presenza nel settore delle stablecoin, soprattutto grazie alla velocità della rete. Questa caratteristica risulta particolarmente importante per i pagamenti transfrontalieri, che con le infrastrutture tradizionali possono richiedere fino a cinque giorni a causa del numero degli intermediari coinvolti. Grazie al suo innovativo meccanismo di Proof of History, che marca temporalmente le transazioni (anziché richiedere l’accordo dei validatori sul loro ordine), Solana è diventata, a settembre 2025, una delle blockchain più veloci per transazioni al secondo (TPS).  

Le commissioni ridotte di Solana rappresentano un altro motivo che la rende adatta al regolamento delle stablecoin. I costi più contenuti sono una priorità nei pagamenti transfrontalieri, che in media ammontano all’1,5% per le transazioni B2B e al 6,49% per le rimesse, secondo i dati della Banca d’Italia. Lo stesso vale per le persone nei Paesi in via di sviluppo, che vedono nel dollaro statunitense un porto relativamente sicuro per proteggere i loro asset dall’inflazione. L’elevato throughput di Solana aiuta a prevenire la congestione delle transazioni, una delle ragioni per cui è in grado di limitare le commissioni ad appena 0,03 $ (a settembre 2025).

Come dichiarato da Lily Liu, presidente di Solana, a CoinShares nel febbraio 2025: “Le stablecoin sono veloci, economiche e costanti. Non devi aspettare l’orario lavorativo per fare un bonifico e poi attendere per giorni a seconda della destinazione. In sostanza si tratta di creare esperienze fintech che permettano a chiunque di spendere e risparmiare denaro.”

Nel corso del 2025, fino al mese di settembre, Solana ha elaborato transazioni in stablecoin per un valore di 330 miliardi di euro, pari al 5% del volume totale. La stragrande maggioranza era in USDC (268 miliardi di euro), pari all’11,5% del volume della stablecoin nel corso dello stesso periodo, a cui si aggiungono altri 57 miliardi in USDT. Anche dai dati forniti da Visa emerge un aumento del volume delle transazioni su Solana a un tasso annuo di crescita composto del 342% a partire da ottobre 2020, quando Visa ha cominciato a monitorare le stablecoin.

Solana: un’importante porta di accesso al fiorente settore delle stablecoin

Con l’adozione sempre maggiore delle stablecoin, favorita anche dall’approvazione della legge GENIUS Act negli Stati Uniti, i protocolli che elaborano transazioni beneficeranno di maggiori introiti derivanti dalle commissioni, che dovrebbero riflettersi nel valore dei loro token nativi. Solana dovrebbe riuscire a consolidare la propria quota di mercato, soprattutto grazie alla velocità del protocollo e alle commissioni contenute. Gli investitori potranno intercettare questa crescita tramite un’esposizione a SOL (il token nativo di Solana), soprattutto tramite i prodotti d’investimento che possono essere integrati perfettamente nei portafogli tradizionali.
