Ogni punto rappresenta un professionista della gestione patrimoniale che ha risposto al nostra indagine. Si distribuiscono tra Italia, Francia, Germania, Svizzera e Regno Unito: cinque mercati con regimi normativi, strutture distributive e rapporti con gli asset digitali differenti.


Tutti i partecipanti sono membri verificati del panel professionale Citywire Engage: un operatore confermato con responsabilità diretta o indiretta sulle decisioni di investimento dei clienti.


Nei prossimi capitoli, gli stessi 261 punti cambieranno configurazione per far emergere ciò che i dati dicono davvero.

Il campione non è uniforme tra i paesi. L'Italia rappresenta quello più ampio (30%), per via della diffusione del modello delle reti di consulenti finanziari nel paese. Segue il Regno Unito (22%).


È una scelta intenzionale: l'obiettivo non era equiparare i mercati tra loro, ma raccogliere in ciascuno un campione abbastanza ampio da risultare significativo.


Sono rappresentate oltre 130 società nei cinque paesi, da banche private globali a istituti di risparmio nazionali fino alle reti di consulenti indipendenti.

L’interesse è diffuso tra i consulenti europei. Le raccomandazioni molto meno.

Abbiamo chiesto a ciascun partecipante qual è il loro attuale approccio alla consulenza sugli asset digitali. Le cinque opzioni andavano dal raccomandare attivamente allo sconsigliare in linea generale.


Il 76% dei consulenti si confronta con i clienti sugli asset digitali in qualche forma: discute attivamente il tema o lo affronta quando sono i clienti a sollevarlo, senza bloccare la conversazione. Un ulteriore 13% raccomanda attivamente gli asset digitali ai clienti.


Il divario tra «coinvolgimento» e «raccomandazione» non è distribuito in modo uniforme tra i mercati. In un mercato la raccomandazione attiva raggiunge il 21%. In un altro si ferma al 3%.

La policy aziendale orienta il comportamento del consulente.

Abbiamo inoltre chiesto ai partecipanti di descrivere la policy della propria società in materia di asset digitali. Quattro opzioni: esplicitamente vietati, nessuna indicazione chiara, consentiti con indicazioni limitate, policy chiara e supporto attivo. Mettendo a confronto la posizione del consulente con la policy della società, emerge un andamento troppo coerente per essere casuale.


Nelle società con un supporto chiaro e attivo, il 48% dei consulenti raccomanda attivamente gli asset digitali. Nelle società con divieto esplicito, questa quota scende all'1%. I consulenti delle società permissive hanno una probabilità 4,5 volte maggiore di raccomandare rispetto a quelli delle società restrittive. Il divario tra consulenti coinvolti e quelli che raccomandano non dipende dalla convinzione individuale, né dal rapporto con il cliente: è una questione di policy aziendale.


È una dinamica che attraversa l’intero campione, indipendentemente dal mercato, dalla tipologia di organizzazione o dal profilo del consulente.

In Italia, dove il modello del consulente finanziario mantiene un contatto stretto con il cliente, il divario è il più contenuto dell’intero sondaggio. La domanda dei clienti si converte in esposizione gestita prima di sfociare nel fai-da-te.


Nel Regno Unito il divario è il più ampio. I clienti britannici sono i più propensi ad investire in asset digitali. Eppure i consulenti britannici hanno il tasso di raccomandazione attiva più basso del sondaggio. I clienti investono e i consulenti non lo vedono.


Il divario tra ciò che i clienti detengono e ciò che i consulenti gestiscono è già presente e in crescita.
