Börseninfrastruktur generiert Einnahmen aus jeder Transaktion, unabhängig von der Marktrichtung. In der traditionellen Finanzwelt vereinnahmt die Deutsche Börse Gebühren, egal ob die Märkte steigen oder fallen: Ihre Marktkapitalisierung von 45 Mrd. € spiegelt diesen richtungsunabhängigen Einnahmestrom wider.¹

Dasselbe Modell verlagert sich nun auf die Blockchain. Hyperliquid hat sich als führende Infrastruktur für den dezentralen Börsenhandel etabliert und seit dem Start ein kumuliertes nominales Handelsvolumen von 2,79 Bio. USD verarbeitet sowie Protokolleinnahmen von 868,6 Mio. USD generiert.² Im Gegensatz zu traditionellen Börsen, die im Besitz von Aktionären sind, ist diese Infrastruktur programmierbar und über Token besitzbar.

Die Frage ist nicht, ob Handelsvolumen auf die Blockchain migriert, sondern welche Infrastruktur diesen Fluss erfassen kann.

Was Handelsinfrastruktur tatsächlich leistet

Traditionelle Märkte trennen Handel und Abwicklung. Die Ausführung erfolgt an einer Börse, die Abwicklung jedoch über separate Clearingstellen und Systeme. Hyperliquid vereint beide Funktionen in einem einzigen On-Chain-System, in dem Order-Matching, Clearing und Settlement gemeinsam und mit vollständiger Transparenz stattfinden.

Dadurch entfallen die Zwischenschichten, die in der traditionellen Finanzwelt erforderlich sind. Jede Order, jeder Trade und jede Liquidation läuft vollständig On-Chain mit Finalität in einem Block ab. Keine Clearingstellen. Keine Abwicklungsverzögerungen. Das Gegenparteirisiko ist auf die Protokollebene konzentriert.

Das Erlösmodell spiegelt das der Deutschen Börse wider: Gebühren aus Handelsvolumen, unabhängig von der Richtung. Das tägliche Handelsvolumen lag in den letzten 24 Stunden bei 1,97 Mrd. USD, wobei jüngste Volatilität gezeigt hat, dass die Plattform in aktiven Marktphasen deutlich höhere Volumina verarbeiten kann.³ Im Gegensatz zu zentralisierten Plattformen ist die Handelsinfrastruktur jedoch selbst besitzbar und programmierbar. Besitzbar, weil das Halten eines Netzwerk-Tokens eine Beteiligung an einem Governance-/Utility-Token darstellt, der an die Ökonomie des Protokolls gebunden ist – nicht an Eigenkapital eines Emittenten; programmierbar, weil Blockchains es ermöglichen, dass jeder Anwendungen darauf aufbauen kann.

Die institutionelle Migration

Traditionelle algorithmische Handelsfirmen sind bereits auf Hyperliquid aktiv. Wintermute, einer der größten Krypto-Market-Maker, betreibt ausgefeilte Quotierungsstrategien über 76 Märkte mit offenen nominalen Orders von rund 185 Mio. € (199 Mio. USD).⁴ Der Market-Making-Ansatz des Unternehmens auf Hyperliquid folgt institutionellen Standards im Bestandsmanagement und Risikocontrolling.

Diese institutionelle Beteiligung spiegelt die Reife der Infrastruktur wider. Hochfrequenzhändler wechseln nicht aus ideologischen Gründen die Plattform: Sie gehen dorthin, wo Ausführungsqualität, Liquidität und Technologie ihren Leistungsanforderungen entsprechen. Wenn große Market Maker Kapital und Algorithmen auf dezentraler Infrastruktur einsetzen, signalisiert dies das Überschreiten der Schwelle zur institutionellen Akzeptanz.

Die Migration ist strukturell, nicht temporär. Traditionelle zentralisierte Börsen schaffen Intransparenz und Gegenparteirisiken, die anspruchsvolle Händler zunehmend vermeiden wollen. On-Chain-Ausführung bietet vollständige Transparenz bei gleichzeitiger Geschwindigkeit und Liquidität, die Institutionen benötigen.

Wertschöpfung und Ökonomie

Das ökonomische Modell von Hyperliquid erfasst Wert von beiden Seiten jeder Transaktion. Die kumulierten Protokolleinnahmen belaufen sich auf 868,6 Mio. USD und stammen vollständig aus Handelsgebühren über sämtliche Aktivitäten auf der Plattform.⁵ Im Gegensatz zu traditionellen Börsen, bei denen Einnahmen an Aktionäre fließen, werden 97 % der Protokollgebühren für Token-Rückkäufe und -Verbrennungen verwendet, wodurch das zirkulierende Angebot im Zeitverlauf sinkt.

Aktuelle Staking-Renditen liegen für Validatoren bei etwa 0,5 % jährlich; Token-Inhaber erhalten zudem Gebührenrabatte und Governance-Rechte. Wichtiger ist jedoch, dass Token-Inhaber an den Gebührenmechaniken des Protokolls partizipieren – strukturell anders als beim Eigenkapitalbesitz eines börsennotierten Börsenbetreibers.

Die Gebührenstruktur skaliert mit dem Volumen. Steigt die Handelsaktivität, steigen auch die Einnahmen proportional. Das Protokoll verdient unabhängig von der Marktrichtung; der Wert einer tokenbasierten Exponierung unterliegt jedoch weiterhin den Dynamiken des Krypto-Asset-Marktes, einschließlich der Volatilität des HYPE-Tokens und der Korrelationen im digitalen Asset-Markt.

Warum On-Chain-Handelsinfrastruktur relevant ist

Traditionelle Börsen funktionieren als Black Boxes. Orderausführung, Matching-Logik und Abwicklungsprozesse bleiben für Nutzer intransparent. Market Maker und Hochfrequenzhändler können Informationsvorteile nutzen, die für andere Marktteilnehmer nicht sichtbar sind.

On-Chain-Infrastruktur beseitigt diese Intransparenz durch programmierbare Transparenz:

  • Jede Order ist öffentlich auf der Blockchain verifizierbar.

  • Preis-Zeit-Priorität wird programmatisch, nicht diskretionär durchgesetzt.

  • Settlement erfolgt sofort ohne Intermediärsrisiko.

  • Handelslogik ist mit anderen Protokollen und Anwendungen kombinierbar.

Dies ermöglicht Finanzprodukte, die in traditionellen Systemen nicht möglich sind: Perpetual Swaps mit algorithmischen Funding-Rate-Anpassungen, Multi-Asset-Margin in Echtzeit sowie automatisierte Market-Making-Strategien, die als Smart Contracts ausgeführt werden. Die Infrastrukturebene wird zur Innovationsplattform statt nur zur Transaktionsabwicklung.

Die Portfolio-Positionierung

Für deutsche institutionelle Investoren bietet Hyperliquid ein Exposure zur Entwicklung von On-Chain-Handelsinfrastruktur. Dieses Exposure unterliegt weiterhin Krypto-Asset-Marktrisiken, einschließlich der Preisvolatilität zugrunde liegender Token. Die Investmentthese hängt nicht davon ab, dass Krypto-Preise steigen – sondern davon, dass Handelsvolumen von zentralisierten zu dezentralen Infrastrukturen wandert.

Der Anlagehorizont entspricht typischerweise dem von Infrastrukturinvestitionen. Es handelt sich nicht um kurzfristige Spekulation auf Krypto-Preise, sondern um langfristiges Exposure zur Digitalisierung der Finanzmarktstruktur.

Die Infrastruktur-These

In jedem Finanzsystem gehört Handelsinfrastruktur zu den wertvollsten und nachhaltigsten Geschäftsmodellen. Sie skaliert mit dem Volumen, funktioniert in Hausse- und Baissephasen und gewinnt an Wert, wenn Netzwerkeffekte Liquidität erhöhen und zusätzliche Teilnehmer anziehen.

Bisher hat Hyperliquid gezeigt, dass On-Chain-Handelsinfrastruktur institutionellen Leistungsanforderungen gerecht werden kann und zugleich programmierbare Funktionen sowie Transparenz bietet, die traditionelle Systeme noch nicht leisten. Das kumulierte Volumen von 2,79 Bio. USD und die Beteiligung institutioneller Market Maker belegen die Produktionsreife.

Das Chancenfenster ergibt sich aus der frühen Phase der Migration von zentralisierter zu dezentraler Handelsinfrastruktur. Der Großteil des institutionellen Handelsvolumens findet noch auf traditionellen Plattformen statt. Mit der Verlagerung auf die Blockchain steigt der Wert der Infrastruktur, die dieses Volumen verarbeitet.
