Als Deutschland die Autobahn baute, ging es nicht darum, einen Geschwindigkeitsrekord aufzustellen. Ziel war es, eine Infrastruktur zu schaffen, die das Frachtaufkommen, die Logistik und die Mobilität einer gesamten Volkswirtschaft bewältigen kann, ohne unter Last zusammenzubrechen. Der Wert lag nicht in der Geschwindigkeit an sich, sondern in dem, was diese Geschwindigkeit ermöglicht. Heute steht die digitale Finanzwelt vor derselben ingenieurtechnischen Frage: Welche Netzwerke können institutionelle Größenordnungen bewältigen, ohne dass es zu Überlastung, Leistungsabfall oder stark steigenden Kosten kommt?

Solanas Antwort ist der Grund, warum Visa sich dafür entschieden hat.

Volumen ist die These

Im Jahr 2023 wählte Visa Solana als Abwicklungsnetzwerk für sein Stablecoin-Pilotprojekt — eine Entscheidung, die nichts mit Krypto-Spekulation zu tun hatte und alles mit Beschaffungslogik. [1] Dieselbe Überlegung, die ein Logistikunternehmen anstellt, wenn es sich für eine Autobahn statt für eine Landstraße entscheidet: Kapazität, Zuverlässigkeit und Kosten im Maßstab. Dieses Pilotprojekt verarbeitet inzwischen ein annualisiertes Abwicklungsvolumen von 3,5 Milliarden US-Dollar (etwa 3,2 Milliarden Euro), wobei Cross River Bank und Lead Bank USDC-Verpflichtungen sieben Tage die Woche abwickeln — einschließlich Wochenenden und Feiertagen — etwas, das das Korrespondenzbankensystem nicht leisten kann.

Der Abwicklungs-Use-Case ist kein Prototyp. Es ist ein produktives System, und es skaliert.

Was Durchsatz für Investoren tatsächlich bedeutet

Solana verarbeitet derzeit rund 265 Millionen Transaktionen pro Tag zu Kosten von etwa 0,0025 US-Dollar (0,0023 Euro) pro Transaktion (Token Terminal, Mai 2026). Zum Vergleich: Das brasilianische Instant-Payment-System Pix verzeichnete im Juni 2025 einen Tageshöchstwert von 276,7 Millionen Transaktionen, und das US-amerikanische RTP-Netzwerk verarbeitet etwa 1,18 Millionen Transaktionen pro Tag. [2] Solana operiert damit auf dem Niveau einer nationalen Zahlungsinfrastruktur — ohne eine Zentralbank im Hintergrund.

Das Netzwerk erreicht unter realen Produktionsbedingungen etwa 3.000 Transaktionen pro Sekunde. Die theoretische maximale Kapazität von Visa liegt bei über 65.000 TPS, doch der durchschnittliche Durchsatz in der Praxis beträgt etwa 1.700 TPS. [3] Die relevante Frage ist nicht, welches System unter idealen Bedingungen schneller ist. Entscheidend ist, welches Netzwerk so konzipiert wurde, dass es erhebliches Wachstum im institutionellen Transaktionsvolumen aufnehmen kann, ohne dass Gebühren und Bestätigungszeiten entstehen, die andere Netzwerke für großvolumige Abwicklung unpraktisch machen. Überlastung im falschen Netzwerk verlangsamt nicht nur Prozesse — sie erhöht die Kosten auf eine Weise, die die Wirtschaftlichkeit hochfrequenter Abwicklung zerstört.

Das ist das Argument für Infrastrukturinvestitionen. Eine Autobahn, die bereits bei 40 % Auslastung im Stau steht, ist keine Autobahn.

Die institutionelle Logik

Circle hat Solana nach einer eigenen Infrastrukturprüfung als primäres Abwicklungsnetzwerk für USDC festgelegt. In Spitzenzeiten läuft mittlerweile ein erheblicher Anteil des globalen USDC-Transfervolumens über Solana, obwohl das Gesamtangebot an USDC auf Ethereum deutlich höher ist. Diese Divergenz spiegelt eine rationale Entscheidung von Institutionen wider: Wo die Abwicklungsökonomie besser ist, folgt das Volumen.

Google Cloud betreibt seit 2022 Validator-Infrastruktur im Solana-Netzwerk und beteiligt sich direkt an der Blockproduktion, anstatt nur Produkte darauf aufzubauen. [4] Im April 2026 begann Meta, USDC-Auszahlungen für Creator in Kolumbien und auf den Philippinen über Solana und Polygon einzuführen — die erste Rückkehr des Unternehmens zu Krypto-Zahlungen seit dem Abbruch des Libra-Projekts im Jahr 2022. [5] Western Union, das Geld in über 200 Länder über ein Netzwerk von 360.000 Agenten transferiert, bereitet die Einführung eines eigenen an den US-Dollar gekoppelten Stablecoins (USDPT) auf Solana im Mai 2026 vor — zunächst als direkter Ersatz für SWIFT in der Interagenten-Abwicklung. [6]

Keine dieser Entscheidungen wurde von Teams getroffen, die spekulative Positionen eingehen. Sie wurden von Infrastruktur-Beschaffungsteams getroffen, die Zuverlässigkeit, Kosten und Kapazität bewerten — und in jedem Fall hat Solana die Anforderungen erfüllt.

Der deutsche Infrastrukturvorteil

Deutsche Infrastrukturinvestoren verstehen Timing. Sie erkennen, wann neue Systeme Produktionsreife erreichen, aber bevor eine breite Adoption die Bewertungen auf ein reifes Niveau treibt. Die Autobahn wurde gebaut, weil wirtschaftliches Wachstum Transportkapazitäten erforderte, die bestehende Straßen nicht bieten konnten. Solana stellt dieselbe Chance in der digitalen Finanzwelt dar. Die Infrastruktur bewältigt bereits heute institutionelle Volumina, befindet sich jedoch noch früh im Adoptionszyklus. Große Finanzinstitute wechseln von Pilotprojekten zu produktiven Systemen, doch der Großteil des institutionellen Kapitals ist noch nicht in die Infrastrukturebene selbst geflossen.

Diese Timing-Lücke — zwischen bewährter Infrastruktur und breitem Besitz — ist genau das, was deutsche Infrastrukturinvestoren in den Bereichen Telekommunikation, Energie und Verkehr genutzt haben. Sie investieren in Kapazität während der Ausbauphasen und profitieren vom Wachstum, wenn das Volumen steigt und diese Kapazität auslastet.

Netzwerkeffekte auf Infrastrukturebene

Die Autobahn schafft ihre eigene Nachfrage. Je mehr Unternehmen sich in der Nähe von Autobahnanschlüssen ansiedeln, desto mehr Verkehr entsteht, was zusätzliche Fahrspuren erfordert, mehr Unternehmen anzieht und weitere Infrastruktur notwendig macht. Die Investition verstärkt sich selbst.

Solana folgt ähnlichen Dynamiken. Höherer Durchsatz zieht volumenintensive Anwendungen an. Mehr Anwendungen erzeugen mehr Transaktionen. Mehr Transaktionsvolumen rechtfertigt Infrastrukturverbesserungen. Bessere Infrastruktur ermöglicht noch höhere Kapazitäten. Jede institutionelle Adoption validiert die Infrastruktur für die nächste und erzeugt so ein kumulatives Wachstum sowohl der Nutzung als auch des Netzwerkwerts.

Infrastrukturökonomie und Validator-Renditen

Das ökonomische Modell von Solana ähnelt dem von Autobahninfrastruktur: Die Einnahmen wachsen mit der Nutzung. Jede Transaktion generiert Gebühren für die Validatoren des Netzwerks. Die aktuellen annualisierten Staking-Renditen liegen zwischen 5,9 % und 6,6 % und kombinieren Inflationsbelohnungen mit der Verteilung von Transaktionsgebühren (Token Terminal, Mai 2026). Mit wachsendem Transaktionsvolumen wächst auch der Gebührenanteil, wodurch die Renditen an die Netzwerknutzung gekoppelt sind und nicht an einzelne Anwendungen, die darauf laufen.

Dies ist ein Engagement in die Infrastrukturebene selbst, nicht in die Unternehmen, die sie nutzen. Die Analogie bleibt bestehen: Besitz von Autobahnkapazität statt von Logistikunternehmen, die darauf angewiesen sind.

Das Investitionsfenster

Die Lücke zwischen bewährter Infrastruktur und breitem institutionellen Besitz ist der Ort, an dem die Chance liegt. Infrastrukturinvestoren erkennen dieses Muster: der Ausbau von 5G-Netzen im Jahr 2013, nicht 2023. Der Glasfaserausbau in den 1990er Jahren, nicht in den 2000ern.

Für Blockchain-Infrastruktur ist dieser Moment jetzt. Netzwerke, die institutionellen Durchsatz liefern können, setzen sich von denen ab, die es nicht können. Solana verarbeitet 265 Millionen Transaktionen täglich zu Kosten, die neue Finanzprodukte ermöglichen. Das Abwicklungsvolumen von 3,5 Milliarden US-Dollar von Visa über Solana bestätigt die Produktionsreife. Staking bietet eine direkte wirtschaftliche Beteiligung am Wachstum des Netzwerks.

Die Durchsatzschicht ist operativ. Die institutionelle Validierung nimmt zu. Die Ausbauphase schafft die Gelegenheit.
